The Apprentice
My portfolio encompasses a variety of unique and innovative projects. As an Industrial Designer, I strive to create functional products that are also aesthetically pleasing. One of my favorite projects was creating a "custom" Bosch power tool used to make livestock hoof care more affordable, more efficient, and easier. The focus of this project was to work on learning mechanical internals and gaining efficiency
with CAD tools.

Current process
Simplified process

On a weekly basis, a typical farrier tends to 32 horses and works 41 hours.

In 85% of horses studied, at least one hoof disorder was observed during regular foot trimming
43% of farriers will wait 11-15 minutes for an appointment before giving up on a no-show horse owner

Meet Pam.
Pam, like many livestock and horse owners learned how to care for her own horses hooves. In order to do that, she attended Martinsville Horseshoeing School to learn how to professionally shoe a horse.
She wants an easier way to do routine maintenence for her animals.

Ideation

Product expansion is available for The Apprentice, with attachments that are able to bend a horseshoe level and flat, and an attachment that is used as an alligator hoof cincher.
